As a Civil Engineer, I spent my days designing and overseeing construction projects. However, after a few years, I grew tired of the monotony and decided to try my hand at business. I joined my uncle's successful spice industry as a manager and spent the next two years learning the ins and outs of the industry.
The COVID-19 pandemic hit and the business world came to a standstill. Our spice industry was no exception, the business was slow and it made me realize that I wanted to do something on my own. During the pandemic, I co-founded a tech startup after realizing that most businesses were not utilizing technology for their bookkeeping and were instead relying on paper-based systems. We hired a team of fresh IT enthusiasts to develop software related to the business. We needed more program writers to hit deadlines faster, but our budget was tight. Instead of waiting for someone else to do it, I decided to take matters into my own hands and taught myself to code.
I devoted my time to learning and eventually created a bookkeeping program that greatly benefited our spice industry. It was then that I finally found my true passion - technology. I couldn't get enough of coding and be determined to learn more. Now, I am constantly learning and practicing coding, and I have aspirations to work with and learn from established technology companies to enhance my skills and further my professional growth. While I am dedicated to growing my startup, I also intend to further my education through advanced studies in this field.
From designing irrigation canals to designing programs, my journey has been an unexpected one. But I've learned that sometimes, the most fulfilling destinations are the ones we least expect. And although I may have left behind the world of concrete and steel, I know that in the world of code, the possibilities are endless.
